ENAGRON lies at the area of Axos. Axos is one of the most ancient towns of Crete and is being inhabited consecutively for at least 3.500 years.
In Crete, according to mythology, going up the mountain Psiloritis, the village of Axos is located; the place where the nymph Anchiale “gave birth” to the Idaious Daktilous, the first inhabitants of Crete after touching the soil of the Oaxian Earth (the earth of Axos). In this same place, wild and beautiful at the same time, within a piece of landcovering 40.000 m 2 and surrounded by a landscape characteristic of the UplandCrete, specifically Psiloritis, right over the gorge, where its natural fountains spring the waters of Mylopotamos, after which the area is named, “ENAGRON” stands before your eyes.
In one of the most authentic places of Crete in terms of mores and traditions, which still maintain their existence since antiquity, close to and in absolute harmony with nature, we have set up our village, which you are welcome to regard as yours, as well.
